BSCIC's Two Days Integrated Management Systems Internal Auditor Examination Course

As an increasing number of organizations endeavoring to simplify their management systems through integration, the role of internal auditors becomes increasingly challenging.

Whilst internal auditors have traditionally been trained to audit from a particular perspective (quality, safety, financial etc.) the integrated approach requires new competencies to be developed focusing on being able to audit the process and recognize the differing levels of criticality associated with the outcomes.

This course has been specifically designed to train auditors in the 'whole system' philosophy of auditing, and equip them to carry out audits of organizational processes from a variety of perspectives.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This two (2) day course has been developed to provide delegates with the knowledge to begin performing INTEGRATED INTERNAL audits. Case studies and participatory activities are based on the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 Management System standards/ Specifications.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

Develop an internal audit system

Perform internal audits to the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS 18001

Understand how to get value for money by conducting internal audits
Understand how to perform internal audits to ensure continuous improvement

HSEQ Managers, Engineers, Departmental Managers, and any other professional, technical or administrative personnel who have responsibility for managing an internal audit system or who are required to carry out internal audits . Prospective course delegates should have some knowledge of the principles of Quality Assurance, Environmental Aspects and safety / Health hazards; and the content and purpose of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 standards/ specification.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN ?

Upon successful completion of this course participants will have gained the knowledge and skills to be able to:
Examine management systems from an integrated standpoint

Interpret the requirements of relevant systems standards including ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001:2004; OHSAS 18001:1999;in the context of an internal audit

Describe the roles and responsibilities of internal auditors and lead auditors and required skills

Prioritise the scheduling of integrated management system audits

Establish resources requirements for the integrated audit based on integrated criteria

Prepare an audit checklist to audit the implementation and effectiveness of the integrated management system
Gather objective evidence using interviewing, observation, sampling and note taking techniques
Analyse and interpret information to determine conformance with requirements

Write a report of the audit including the documentation of any opportunities for improvement

Carry out follow up on audit findings including the evaluation of the effectiveness of corrective action.

The course includes the use of a case study which participants audit from an integrated perspective during the programme.

COURSE CONTENT AND STRUCTURE
Course starts at 9:30 A.M. and ends approximately at 6:00 P.M.. The course includes a detailed participant's Manual, All relevant International standard copy, series of presentations, Examples and Exercises involving group activities.

Maximum attendance 20 Delegates.

We strongly believe that the experience in Quality Management Assessment and Training skills is a right combination to deliver a practical training course.
